the age-old mating ritual of the Greater Prairie Chicken. See these
awesome birds at their finest. Watch them do their unique dance and hear
their distinctive booming sounds. We have scheduled BASIC and SPECIAL
tour packages over four weekends in March and April.
Tours will originate in Wray, CO on the weekends of:
March 29/30
April 5/6
April 12/13
April 19/20
Two trips are scheduled each weekend.
Space is limited, only 24 seats per tour are available, no exceptions.
Registrations accepted on a prepaid, first-come, first-served basis. Payment
must be received to reserve a viewing seat. NO
REFUNDS FOR CANCELLATIONS!
All transportation will be provided for the tour. No private vehicles
allowed at the lek. Time for viewing may vary, no one leaves the lek until
the birds leave. Estimated time of return to Wray is 10:00 a.m.
Dress for extreme cold, we will take the tour no matter the weather. Be
prepared! No bathrooms available at the lek. There are bathrooms available
at the breakfast site. Approximate time in viewing trailer is 1 and 1/2
hours. Cameras are allowed. Large tripods create problems in the viewing
trailer and are discouraged.
BASIC Tour Package:
Check-in and orientation program begins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at
the Wray Museum. Participants will meet on Saturday morning at the motel
parking lot for transportation to view the Chickens and to the ranch-style
breakfast. We should return to Wray about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Cost of the BASIC TOUR is:
$120 per person
Price includes motel room.

SPECIAL
Tour Package:
Registration begins Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Wray Museum. You will
then be taken by bus to the Laird School for a steak dinner, orientation
and entertainment. You will then be returned to your vehicles at the Museum.
Participants will meet at the motel parking lot for transportation to
view the Chickens and to the ranch-style breakfast. We should return to
Wray about 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Cost of the SPECIAL TOUR is:
$135 per person
Price includes motel room.
Prices are available for those with RVs. Please call or email for details.
You are responsible for being to the motel on time to leave for the Prairie
Chicken viewing.
You must attend the evening orientation program. Information will be presented
during the program that you will not receive otherwise.
Departure times may vary. Most tours leave Wray between 4:00 a.m. and
5:00 a.m. Exact departure time will be announced during the orientation
program. A confirmation of your reservations and your receipt will be
sent to you as soon as payment is confirmed.
